Name of the Program: Interdisciplinary Healthcare Management Master with Thesis
The Graduate School of Health Sciences, Department of Health Management, with Thesis, started with 12 students in 2019. There are currently 16 active students.
Aims and Objectives of the Program: There are three basic dimensions in a health system: quality, cost and access. Ideally, these three dimensions stand out equally well and ultimately form an ideal healthcare system. In the management of the health system, it is necessary to construct these three dimensions on the macro and micro economic science, health policies and healthcare management disciplines. Any negativity in this setup may cause disruption of healthcare management processes. In this context, the academic knowledge presented in the master's program with thesis covers all aspects of healthcare management academically. With the program, which is designed in an interdisciplinary structure, it is aimed to provide students with ideal healthcare management knowledge and to become a world-class healthcare manager in parallel with the examples and trends in the world. The Interdisciplinary Healthcare Management Master's Program with Thesis aims to meet the professional healthcare management needs based on modern and modern healthcare management.
Other Fields of Cooperation: Public Health Department, Finance Master Program, Business Information Management Master Program, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Master Program, Biostatistics and Medical Informatics Department
In this context, graduate students are provided to take courses related to their fields courses from the courses offered by the current programs. In this respect, Healthcare Management Master's Program has an interdisciplinary structure by making use of economics, business administration, management, marketing, finance, accounting, tourism, law and medicine branches / disciplines.
Program Admission Requirements: Students with bachelor's degrees in healthcare management, health administration, health institutions management, business administration, economics, law, public administration, public health medicine, pharmacy, nursing / midwifery dentistry and health sciences and industrial engineering acceptable. The acceptance of candidates from other fields to the program is possible with the approval of the relevant department and the completion of the scientific preparation program. The preparatory program is run by Mersin University School of Health, Department of Healthcare Management. The admission requirements for the proposed program are evaluated by the related department before each student admission period. The provisions of Mersin University Postgraduate Education Regulation are applied in student admission. Students' equal weight (EA) score in ALES exam is taken into consideration.
Profile of the Programme
The graduates of Healthcare Management post graduate programme have the theoretical and application related knowledge of healthcare management area, can conduct an independent study and initiates by using a known technique in the field, can solve the problems surface in healthcare management process by using scientifical methods and techniques.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The graduates are employed in a wide service area beside the general healthcare management area as middle and high level managers responsible for administrative, financial ve technical tasks.
Departmental Facilities
There are 1 professor, 6 associate professors, 1 assistant professor conducting teaching and research activities in the program. Students benefit from the social and cultural opportunities in the campus.
