Department of Pharmaceutical Biochemistry
Biochemistry is a branch of science that examines the chemical structure and functions of biological systems at the molecular level and is at the heart of health and life sciences. For this purpose, it is in close contact with many branches of science. Our department has been actively continuing its education and research activities since the foundation of the Faculty of Pharmacy.In addition to the comprehensive research training we offer in our laboratories in Master and Doctorate programs, theoretical and practical training is provided on advanced biochemistry, metabolism diseases, signal transmission, neurochemistry, hormones, proteins, lipoproteins, recombinant DNA techniques. The objectives of the master and doctorate programs are to provide and develop basic knowledge and laboratory skills in the field of biochemistry and Health Sciences. Our major research facilities include enzymology, oxidative stress, apoptosis, protein chemistry, hemoglobinopathies and molecular biology.
